Mathematics and Art

I have done some work related to the intersection of mathematics and art. This page contains links to some of this work as well as work of others.

This image is from the Handbook of Complex Analysis (Chapter 6 which I wrote with Emily Gullerud).
A preprint of the published paper is available at arXiv:2008.11311. Some of our artwork was also exhibited
at the 2023 CUR National Convention. To see our exhibit,

This work was inspired by the ideas of Frank Farris. I wrote a review in the Notices of the American Mathematical Society
of the book Frank Farris wrote about his art work and the mathematical ideas it is based on. Some of my original art work
based on symmetries in Euclidean geometry are included in this review, as well as art work by Farris.
